RECONNECTING OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH A SHARED LOVE OF THE ARTS

Winter Light, where the magic of illumination takes center stage and brings our community together. From the sparkling glow of festive streets to the warmth of live music, dance, and joyful gatherings, this festival is a celebration of creativity and connection. Each light, each moment, reflects the shared experiences that brighten our world, reminding us that even in the heart of winter, our collective spirit shines brighter than ever.

Marquette’s Winter Light Festival debuts this year, bringing an array of holiday-themed events and light displays for both locals and visitors. Featured displays include the annual Holiday Lasers on the Ore Dock, Downtown District Lights, and Oscillation, a new interactive art installation that uses light, sound, and movement to engage participants. The festival also offers community celebrations like the Holiday Parade, City Tree Lighting, and the DDA’s Yule Market that will showcase local artisans and holiday goods.

Community members are invited to host their own winter light-inspired events and submit them to MQTcompass.com for inclusion in the official festival lineup. All events must be open to the public and align with the theme of “Winter Light.”

December 1-31, 2024 – The Winter Light Festival runs throughout December, concluding with a grand finale celebration on New Year’s Eve in downtown Marquette.

The Winter Light Festival is presented by the Marquette Downtown Development Authority, Travel Marquette, and the City of Marquette. Oscillation is created by The Urban Conga and Produced by Creos. It is brought to Marquette by the Marquette public Art Commission with support from Travel Marquette and the DDA.
