Located on the main floor of the Peter White Public Library, the Huron Mountain Club Gallery is a key component of the Public Gallery Program, which provides accessible and inclusive gallery spaces for the community to experience art in a public setting.
The Huron Mountain Club Gallery highlights a diverse range of creative voices through exhibits that emphasize community storytelling, regional identity, and educational themes. With rotating displays throughout the year, the gallery features artists working across all experience levels and mediums—from painting and ceramics to fiber arts, installation, and more.
In addition to locally curated shows, the gallery also hosts traveling exhibitions that celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Upper Peninsula. Its dynamic programming fosters connection, cultural exploration, and lifelong learning in a welcoming, community-centered environment.

If you could live anywhere in the US, where would you go?
In the spring of 2021, Travis and his wife and sold their cars and moved their life, and dog, into a 62-square foot camper van. They set out on the road to see where they would want to settle down and raise a family.
Destination: anywhere.
Our 477-day journey took us over 40,000 miles, through 45 US states. About two thirds of the way through, we made a realization.
We were comparing every town in America to a new place we had grown to love: Marquette, Michigan.
This is the visual story of the 40,000 miles of American fabric, sprawled out between their question and their future.
The American fabric is not the sunset over the mountains, or the person pouring coffee at the diner, it is how they are woven together to create the rich, complex, and flawed place we call home.
